With its recent purchase by China’s Geely Holding Group, Volvo has a chance to refocus on its Swedish roots even as it brushes up on its Mandarin. After years of expansion under Ford Motor Company, Volvo now plans to shrink itself to a core set of models that best exemplify the company’s roots, while simultaneously assessing new segments and designing new vehicles that are unmistakably Volvo.
