Frequently Asked Questions
1. I posted an ad to sell a car, why can’t I find it when I search USED CARS?
If you did not receive a confirmation email from Vehix, the ad was not successfully completed. Please try again. ALL ads are reviewed by an automatic filter for content and price. After review, if they are caught in the filter, they will be manually reviewed Monday thru Friday 9:00 am-5:00 pm MST and either approved or denied. Once this process is completed, it may take up to 4 hours for your ad to appear on the site.
2. I updated my ad and now it's under review. What does that mean and how do I get it removed?
Each time an ad is edited, the ad must undergo another review process. This process is very similar to the one that you encountered when you first posted your ad. The review usually takes a very short time before the ad is back on the site. This process helps us in controlling fraudulent sellers from changing their ads to entice buyers.
3. I am trying to post an ad and I get a “duplicate display name entered” message. What does that mean?
The Display Name names your MY VEHIX account. It must be unique to you (example: BertR1977). This does not appear on site and is not required to log in to your account. If you see the “duplicate display name entered” message, another user has already chosen that name. Please choose another display name.
4. I sold my car! How do I remove my ad?
Go to Vehix.com and click on MY VEHIX. Then login with your email address and password. Click on ADs and then click "delete ad" near the bottom.
5. I have not yet sold my car. How do I renew my ad?
The FREE 30-day ads are not renewable, but you can relist your vehicle. You will receive an email with a link to upgrade to a premium ad.
If you have a PREMIUM ad, you will receive an email every 90 days with a link to renew AT NO CHARGE.
6. I received an inquiry about my car that sounds kind of “fishy.” How can I protect myself from being scammed?
Scam artists employ a variety of scams to steal from legitimate sellers. This is an unfortunate problem for all classified sites, including eBay, Craigslist, AutoTrader and Vehix.com. Vehix works hard to recognize and eliminate scams as they are discovered. We recommend you review the consumer protection notice in your confirmation email. We’ve also written an article that can help you recognize common scams and tactics.

Contact Vehix with Fraudulent Inquiries:
Please send us all email contact you have had with this person so we can add the seller to our blacklist. You can also report the seller directly to the FBI at www.ic3.gov.
7. Why do I see a “thread aborted” message when I try to upload photos to my ad?
This message means that the photo you are attempting to upload is too large. The optimal size for uploaded photos is 640 X 480. Please resize the photo before uploading.
8. How do I remove Expired Ads from a MY VEHIX account?
When an ad expires, it will drop off the site within 4 hours. It will remain in your MY VEHIX account for up to 60 days to give you the chance to upgrade the ad without losing the data you’ve already entered into the system.
9. I am a small dealership but my ad says Private Seller. How can I change that?
If you used the SELL YOUR CAR section to post your vehicle you are considered a Private Seller. This means your Dealer Name or logo will not appear (except in the seller comments). Our Authorized Dealers pay a monthly fee to advertise their inventory. If you are interested in becoming a Vehix dealer, please click on the link at the bottom of this page titled “Become a Vehix Dealer.”
10. How can I list a vehicle that was produced before 1981 on Vehix.com?
The Vehix vehicle database will not allow you to list a vehicle older than 1981 because accurate VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) details are not available.
11. Does Vehix receive a commission on any vehicle I list and sell on Vehix.com?
Absolutely not. Whether you list your vehicle on Vehix for free or pay for our Premium package, Vehix does not receive any compensation on the successful sale of your vehicle. If you list it for $10,000 and a buyer offers you $10,000, you keep the entire amount (all $10,000 or the entire selling price). All we ask is that you return to Vehix and delete your vehicle listing once the sale is complete. This helps us keep listings current.
