Chevrolet Cruze Mechanical Gas Saver

Posted by Nathan Adlen on September 12th, 2010

For the past few months, General Motors has dialed up the high mileage rhetoric based mostly on the upcoming Chevrolet Volt. Recently, they have started the hype on the Chevrolet Cruze. This is a car we’re excited to drive as we’ve already heard good things about it.

The press release below does a nice job of explaining the mechanical solution for

Mercedes Benz will Fast Forward to Tomorrow

Posted by Nathan Adlen on September 11th, 2010

I apologize for the small, nearly indecipherable words on the photo. This is one of many billboards from Mercedes Benz advertising its new BlueEFFICIENCY technology PR campaign. This is the highest resolution I can get from their PR site, but rest assured, all of the photo’s information is included below.

The “BlueEFFICIENCY” idea from Mercedes Benz is a commitment to significantly

2011 Volvo C70 T5 Convertible

Posted by Nathan Adlen on September 10th, 2010

Volvo is an unknown player nowadays. With its recent sale to a Chinese company (Geely) and very little communication with the press, it’s hard to say where Volvo will end up. We certainly hope things work out for the Swedish automaker because we have a thing for old Volvos.

As for new ones, we submit the turbocharged, recently redesigned

Ford Fiesta Rally Racing School

I had an argument with a friend about what Ford was going to do with many of their vehicles used in the “Fiesta Movement” ad campaign. The Fiestas used were European models that were taken back by Ford after the event ended. They can’t be sold here and shipping them back to Europe is a silly idea. I was positive

New KIA Sportage is Looking Good for 2011

Posted by Nathan Adlen on September 8th, 2010

We get excited by the simplest of things. When we first drank Starbuck’s instant coffee – we were astounded. When we discovered how to (finally) program my smart-phone – we reveled in my obvious genius and when we caught a glimpse of the new 2011 KIA Sportage – we cheered like a buffoon.

Right off the bat, we could

Subaru Outback vs Mitsubishi Outlander Video

Posted by Nathan Adlen on September 7th, 2010

There is something about the history of Subaru and Mitsubishi that makes for fun reading. They have been very competitive with each other for decades with vehicles like the Mitsubishi Evo and the Subaru WRX. Throughout the world, brand loyal fans cling to either automaker with as much ferocity as American Chevy and Ford fans do.

Many people do not

Nissan Sentra vs Nissan Versa

Posted by Nathan Adlen on September 6th, 2010

Don’t get me wrong – Nissan builds great cars, but some of them blur the line between levels. I have a hard time explaining the reason for owning a Nissan Maxima over a Nissan Altima as the only standout feature of the Maxima was the styling and slightly better performance. Unless the consumer simply MUST have

Hybrid vs Diesel vs Gas Video

Posted by Nathan Adlen on September 5th, 2010

There is a reality sitting just below the surface of our everyday commute: one day, we will all HAVE to drive something more efficient. We are not green-drivers by any stretch of the imagination – but we know that the nearby future will have me in a diesel, hybrid or super-efficient, gas-powered mini-car.

There are already combinations of these popular fuel-savers

2010 Nissan 370Z the Zipper

Posted by Nathan Adlen on September 4th, 2010

Odd title – no? You either though we were referring to “Zipper” as in, “This Nissan 307Z Convertible is ZIPPY” – it is, or, “It holds the road like a zipper holds the fly.” Well, it does that too. Neither analogy is correct.

We call the Nissan 370Z Convertible the “Zipper” because we nearly lost our head while driving

Bye Bye Bug the New Beetle is Retiring

Posted by Nathan Adlen on September 3rd, 2010

There will be no 2011 New Beetle. It appears the run ends with the 2010 Volkswagen Beetle.

Before you light the torches and storm the Volkswagen headquarters, I assure you that the New Beetle is only being retired in its present form. We think. Volkswagen is prepping a replacement we should see in 2012 or 2013, so the rumor goes.
