Please be sure to check out all five articles, including the final installment on some of the many scams and other frauds found in the online marketplace. Familiarizing yourself with the process and the risks involved are your best protection and the best way to ensure a successful deal.
Know when to sell
We touched on this in our first two articles, but to reiterate, the time of year that you are selling your car can impact value and buyer interest. Convertibles will sell for less during winter compared to spring or summer. On the other hand, trucks and SUVs become more popular and expensive during winter months. Do a search on Vehix to see the selling prices for similar vehicles.
How do I know my car's "condition?"
This is another one of those areas where you need to be honest with yourself. Exaggerating a car's condition will lead to a disappointed buyer when it comes time to show the vehicle, but being too cautious and underselling the condition will drive some interested parties away.
You might ask a mechanic familiar with the car how they would rate the condition, or you can do some research on Vehix to get an idea of different ways in which condition is determined. Here's another good place to help you make the determination Vehix Used Vehicle Values.
