The auto industry has struggled in 2009. But you wouldn’t know it by attending an auto show where you get the chance to see dream vehicles up close and personal. Here are many of our favorites from the 2009 Los Angeles Auto Show—a show that featured the latest green, hybrid, electric and consumer electronic technology in amazingly stylish, colorful and, in some cases, funky vehicles.
The Personal-Neo Urban Transport (or P-NUT if you’re family) is the closest thing to a moon vehicle we’ve seen in years. You’ll never be able to drive this car. But it’s a compelling example of what an urban-focused vehicle could look like. Honda reps told me the average vehicle typically has a single occupant. And when more come along for the ride, it’s usually less than four people. So the P-NUT offers a single driver position in the center of the car and seats for two back-seat riders. Funky. Fun. Nutty.
