Imagine stepping into a showroom where every vehicle is dust free and sports a perfect paint job. That’s the 2010 North American International Auto Show. Vibrant colors. Shiny tires. Futuristic concepts. They’re all here for the next few weeks as the auto industry’s biggest (and sometimes even the smallest) players roll out their latest designs to discerning and often adoring crowds in Detroit, Michigan.
Here are 10 interesting, beautiful and futuristic cars from the 2010 show.
Maybe it’s because it’s cold and snowy in Detroit as the North American International Auto Show opens. Maybe it’s because the Audi R8 convertible (view 2010 photos) is a flat-out gorgeous car in any configuration (see a red version from the Los Angeles Auto Show, for example). But we simply can’t take our eyes off this convertible. The photos don’t do the paint job or beautiful lines of this car justice. With a V10 engine, it’s seriously fast – 525 horses push this machine from zero to 60 in just under 4 seconds. But we think it looks stunning without even moving. Suddenly it’s very hot in chilly Detroit.
