Auto Industry is Lookin' Up!

Wednesday, November 04, 2009
Is the auto industry starting to recover?

Let's hope it is.  Especially after bailout money was given for that express purpose; nobody likes a plan that doesn't work.

The Salt Lake Tribune, one of the main local papers in Salt Lake, Utah wrote an article today about how the auto industry is showing signs of life in Utah and around the country.  Although sales are down by about 30% compared to last year, many automakers are seeing steady growth in month-to-month profits.  Some individual dealers in Utah have even been able to maintain a year-over-year sales.

Though these companies have a long way to go before they're out of the woods, they're sensing a greater optimism from the consumer.  A recent upturn in the national economy might help explain this blushing optimism.  Though Americans are still worried about looming job loss and the unstable economy, signs of life are returning to many retail businesses around the country.

Let's keep it going!
